Meet The Team

Whitegate Station Community Group is run by 6 directors, and exists to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and create a safe, inclusive community space through a volunteer-led rural café at the heart of the Whitegate Way. We provide a welcoming, supportive environment where people of all ages and abilities can volunteer, build skills, connect with others and contribute meaningfully to their community. WSCG is volunteer-led, values-driven and community-focused. Inclusion, dignity and kindness underpin everything we do, supported by strong safeguarding and governance.

The Station House Café operates as a community hub as well as a café. It provides a warm, welcoming place where people can meet, volunteer, develop confidence and skills, and feel part of something positive. Many visitors come to walk, cycle or spend time on the Whitegate Way, and the café offers a safe point of connection, rest and conversation. Alongside day-to-day café operations, WSCG supports community activities and partnerships that strengthen local connection and wellbeing. These activities create opportunities for people to socialise, volunteer, learn new skills and feel supported within their local community.
