Ginger&Browns is a pet shop specialising in dogs, cats and wildlife. We have hand selected our products for ethical, quality or locally sourced reasons, giving a variety of products you won’t find in other pet shops! We’re dog friendly, have fantastic, free parking, and we are accessible for everyone!

Meet Josh
I love the natural world! I grew up in Devon, surfing and playing drums. Moved to Chester for university reading Animal Behaviour. I went on to become a science research technician for the University of Liverpool before going on to open Ginger&Browns in 2016, and Innoscent Spa in 2019.
Now, in my free time I love gardening, I have a double garage floor to ceiling in snakes, lizards, frogs and tarantulas! I’m still a drummer, I’m also a mountaineer and climber, but unfortunately surfing isn’t as accessible in Cheshire!
In 2026, after a decade as a business owner, I now also run What D’ya Wanna Do? with John. Business has such a dirty connotation, but in reality it’s normal people trying to earn a living, and so we wanted to find a way to show case the people behind the business that keep our local community, a community.
